Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, Mammography and Bone Densitometry
Nuclear Medicine
A full range of services are available in our Nuclear Medicine department. With administration of a small dose of radioactive material, organs such as the thyroid, liver, spleen and boy structures can be evaluated for presence of cancer, infection or traumatic changes such as fracture.
Our Nuclear Medicine department also provides SPECT (Single Photo Emission Computed Tomography) which uses multiplanar imaging to accurately study various parts of the body such as bones, liver spleen, etc.
Ultrasound
Our Ultra sound equipment is one of the latest systems available which, in conjunction with color Doppler study, provides non-invasive images of all abdominal organs, blood vessels, breasts, small parts such as thyroids and testicles.
This is also the modality of choice for evaluation of pregnancy and all OB-GYN pathology. Endovaginal proves, utilized with this equipment, offer additional detailed evaluation of the uterus, ovaries and associated pathology.
Our Ultrasound is ACC by ACR (American College of Radiology).
Mammography
Mammography is an excellent modality to detect breast pathology, particularly cancer. Our Mammography unit produces high resolution images with low does to the patient and is accredited by the American College of Radiology.
We are also an FDA approved mammography facility.
Bone Densitometry
Osteoporosis affects more than 50% of American women over the age of 50. There are an estimated 25 million people in this country with this disease.
Osteoporosis related fractures and associated complications can be devastating. With our Lunar Bone Densitometry, osteoporosis can be detected in the early stages and can be managed or treated properly.
Diagnostic Studies
In our three x-ray rooms, all radiographic and fluoroscopic x-ray examinations are being performed by our experienced Technologists.
